Question 1: How tall are you?
5 foot 3 inches short.
Question 2: Do you have a hidden talent? If so, what?
I don’t think so. Not that I’m currently aware of anyway.
Question 3: What’s your biggest blog-related pet peeve?
Bad grammar and spelling…probably comes with being a creative writing student.
Question 4: What’s your biggest non-blog-related pet peeve?
People talking over other people in a conversation and interrupting. If someone is talking, have some respect for them and wait until there is a lapse in the conversation to jump in.
Question 5: What’s your favourite song?
I don’t really have a favourite song, artist or genre when it comes to music. I love a bit of everything. I’m back in my country phase at the moment though.
(below is my playlist of personal favourites)
Question 6: What’s your favourite social media website?
Twitter. I love this platform because the blogging and writing community is so strong and supportive there. There’s always someone you can connect with for advice and to share your work. Instagram is definitely close to the top too, especially as the cosplay community is more active on that platform.
Question 7: What’s your favourite way to spend your free time when you’re alone?
There are a few things that I do to fill any free time I have (granted it's not much). Most often it's watching anime or writing; I've been writing a lot of fanfiction lately as well as working on a few projects that I hope to talk more about soon! I also read a lot (novels & manga) and play video games. When I want something more peaceful and low-intensity, I'll knit while I listen to music or a podcast.
Question 8: What’s your favourite junk food?
Either pizza or Chinese. I’ll only ever order vegetarian pizza or mushroom chow mein though.
Question 9: Do you have a pet or pets? If so, what kind and what are their names?
My family has a ginger cat called Eddie. I love him to bits, but he’s a little demon.

Question 10: What are your number one favourite nonfiction and fiction books?
Fiction: Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard (I couldn’t pick from the books in the series)
Non-fiction: Writing Down The Bones by Natalie Goldberg (a must-read for writers and recommended by one of my Creative Writing professors)
Question 11: What’s your favourite beauty product or tool?
Probably the Salicylic Acid cleanser by InkeyList. It's gentle but also leaves my face feeling fresh.

Question 12: When were you last embarrassed? What happened?
I’m usually very careful with ensuring I don’t end up putting myself in situations that could trigger my anxiety, embarrassing situations included. The last really embarrassing situation I was in was about three years ago. At work, I picked up a glass to serve a customer and it shattered in my hand. Not only did I grab onto the shards of glass as it exploded, but I also shouted “shiver me timbers” really loud in a full pub…
Question 13: If you could only drink one beverage (besides water) for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Vanilla lattes.
Question 14: What’s your favourite movie?
I can’t pick one, so my top three are Dead Poet’s Society, How To Train Your Dragon (all of them), and Your Name.
Question 15: What was your favourite lesson in school and why?
I’d probably say English Lit or music. English Literature was one of my favourites because I got to read a lot. My teacher was also really nice, and she set up a lunchtime book club. Music was one of my favourites at GCSE because there was a group of us that used to spend each lesson in one of the music rooms improvising and experimenting with different sounds for songs we wanted to cover.
Question 16: If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?
Norway. I’ve looked into it a lot online and it’s said to be one of the top countries in the world for happiness. The views are also incredible over there and there are plenty of spots for scenic hiking and camping!

Question 17: PC or Mac?
PC. I’ve never been able to get along with Macs.
Question 18: Last romantic gesture from a crush, date, boy/girlfriend, spouse? (or kind gesture from a friend)
I don't even know where I'd start with this...my girlfriend and I are so sappy for each other that there's never a gesture that's not remotely romantic or compassionate.
Question 19: Favourite celebrity?
I’d probably say Taraji P Henson. She’s such an incredible actress and her memoir – ‘Around The Way Girl’- was inspiring.

Question 20: What blogger do you secretly want to be best friends with?
Does a YouTuber count? If so, Unjaded Jade. Her content is confidence-boosting and she seems like a really cool, down-to-earth friend to have.
Question 21: Who is your biggest inspiration?
There are a couple: My girlfriend inspires me to be the best version of myself (if you read this, I love you!). And my dad and step-mum have been there for me through everything and have been so strong through everything we've endured together. For that, they are also a huge inspiration to me.
Question 22: What is your favourite blog to read?
I’m not sure it can be classed as a blog, but they do post a lot of articles on their website. My favourite ‘blog’ to read is the Writer’s Digest website. They have a lot of useful articles for writers as well as a page for writing prompts – always good if you’re stuck for a little writing inspiration.
Question 23: What is your favourite high street shop?
I don’t usually shop from high street stores and brands, but I’d have to say Typo. We recently got one in Derby and if I had the money, I’d be buying everything.
Question 24: Are you in education or do you work?
I recently graduated from university with a 2:1 in Joint Honours Professional & Creative Writing with Education Studies. I'm also working full-time in a bar while I work on my MA applications.
Question 25: One thing you are proud of?
The main thing – to date - that I am proud of is graduating with a 2:1 when I just barely thought I'd graduate at all. It took a lot of hard work, and there were many meltdowns and tears...but I managed it. I know I wouldn't have been able to do it without the people I love supporting me.
I hope you enjoyed this post! If you have any suggestions for content you want me to write in the future, leave them in the comments or tweet me at @JazLeighWrites.
