Safe to say this is one of THE best books I have ever read!

I was supposed to review this book ages ago since I read it in January, but I lost motivation after I lost my original draft...*sighs* But! I'm back and determined to get this review done and dusted so that you guys can see what I thought!

First of all - the plot. Oh. My. Gosh. I'm going to try not to give too much away, but there is one hell of a plot twist somewhere near the middle! I nearly cried. Overall, the storyline is incredible. It's so current and - I'm sure in many cases - easy to relate to. LGBT+ fiction is another one of my favourite genres and this is by far the best novel I've read so far. I found this book on a random trip to my local Waterstones. After settling down for half an hour to read some of it, I had decided I would return to make my purchase.

Now, onto the characters...Can they please exist in real life so we can hang out? Please? Well...as with every story, there are protagonists and antagonists. The antagonists are very easy to hate and the protagonists are so easy to love. Either way, every character is completely unique and of their own. I was totally shipping David (Kate) and Leo as a couple though and that didn't happen.

As with other novels by Lisa Williamson, the vocabulary she uses is current and suited to her niche. This has definitely worked in her favour since this book has won many awards already! It's definitely a beautifully well-written novel and I can't wait to read it again at some point. Her choice of words and the structure of the story make for an easy and enjoyable read all the way through and I severely hope that she decides to write a sequel at some point.

Overall, I give this book a 5/5 rating and definitely recommend it to young adults. It would seem wrong to recommend a gender, so I'd say this book can be read by anyone and everyone who loves LGBT+ fiction.
